Followers of my account on Twitter and Facebook may have realised by now that I love anything to do with birds (the feathered kind :)) and wildlife.  I’m lucky enough to have a big window in front of my desk which overlooks a hedge (at the side of the driveway), and a big green across the road.  I always have my camera next to my desk (just in case) and I allow myself breaks every 45 minutes or so to have a proper look outside.

I’ve decided to share any observations I make in the hope of converting you all into wildlife watchers 😉

My first set of photos are of birds that we would normally see on the beach, not a housing estate!  Shows how desperately hungry they must be.

Lapwing

Curlew

Oystercatcher

Apologies for the poor shots as they were taken through partially closed slatted blinds (I’m usually a bit better than this!).  These were taken yesterday – unfortunately today I can’t even see the green as we’ve had approx 2-3 inches of snow overnight!

With all the snow and cold weather we’re experiencing, the poor birds have got it bad 🙁

PLEASE PUT OUT SOME FOOD & WATER FOR YOUR GARDEN BIRDS (thanks!)
